Dikoetjie Centre for the Mentally Handicapped was founded in 2015 with the admission of only three individuals living with mental disabilities. Recognising the growing need for specialised care and support within the community, the organisation expanded its services and was officially registered as a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) in 2019.
Today, the centre provides accommodation, food security, healthcare support, and general care for Seventy eight residents. The residents consist of 69 men and 9 women. Beyond caring for vulnerable individuals, the organisation also contributes to poverty alleviation and job creation within the local community.
